Last updated: June 30, 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how Amsunaris ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you ("User", "you") use the Matixo mobile application ("App", "Game", "Service"). This policy is designed to comply with applicable privacy laws, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the Google Play Families Program requirements.

Matixo is an educational math game designed for children aged 5 and older. We take children's privacy very seriously and have designed the App with privacy-by-default principles.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If the User is a child, a parent or legal guardian must review this Privacy Policy before allowing the child to use the App.

This data is stored using a local SQLite database and SharedPreferences on the device. We do not collect, store, or have access to any of this information.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Firebase Analytics (by Google)

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used in aggregate. Firebase Analytics collects anonymous, non-personally-identifiable usage data, including:

  • Game events: game starts, game completions, scores, coins earned, and session duration.
  • Answer attempts: which math problems were attempted and whether answers were correct (no personal information is included).
  • Technical data: device type, operating system version, app version, screen resolution, and general geographic region (country-level, derived from IP address by Google — the IP address itself is not stored by us).

Firebase Analytics does not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or physical addresses.
  • Photos, videos, or audio recordings.
  • Precise location data (GPS coordinates).
  • Persistent personal identifiers linked to individual children.

Firebase Analytics is operated by Google. For information on how Google processes this data, please see:

Google AdMob (Advertisements)

The App may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob. When advertisements are displayed:

  • For child-directed content, we configure AdMob to serve non-personalized, age-appropriate ads only, in compliance with COPPA and GDPR requirements.
  • Personalized advertising is disabled for all users of this App.
  • AdMob may collect limited technical information as necessary to serve ads, including:
  • Device type and operating system version.
  • Ad interaction data (e.g., whether an ad was viewed or clicked).
  • Non-precise, IP-derived geographic information (country/region level).
  • AdMob does not collect personally identifiable information from child users.

For more information on Google's advertising practices and data collection:

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be explicit about what we do not collect:

  • ❌ Personal contact information (email, phone, address)
  • ❌ Real names or verified identities
  • ❌ Photos, camera data, or microphone recordings
  • ❌ Precise geolocation (GPS)
  • ❌ Contacts, call logs, or SMS data
  • ❌ Browsing history
  • ❌ Financial or payment information
  • ❌ Social media accounts or identifiers
  • ❌ Biometric data
  • ❌ Health or fitness data

2. How We Use Collected Information

We use the automatically collected information solely to:

  • Improve the App: Understand which game modes and features are most popular to guide development priorities.
  • Fix bugs: Identify technical issues and crashes.
  • Analyze aggregate trends: Understand general usage patterns (e.g., most common difficulty level, average session length).
  • Display advertisements: Serve age-appropriate, non-personalized ads to support the free availability of the App.

We do not use any collected data to:

  • Identify, contact, or profile individual children.
  • Create behavioral advertising profiles.
  • Sell or rent data to third parties.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

3.1 Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services:

Service Provider Purpose Data Shared
Firebase Analytics Google LLC Anonymous usage analytics Anonymous event data, device metadata
Google AdMob Google LLC Advertisement display Device type, OS version, ad interaction, IP-derived region

3.2 We Do NOT

  • Sell, rent, lease, or trade any user data to third parties.
  • Share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • Allow third parties to collect personal information from child users through the App.

4. Data Retention

  • Local data (hero profiles, scores, preferences): Retained on the device until the user deletes the hero profile, clears app data, or uninstalls the App.
  • Firebase Analytics data: Retained by Google according to their standard data retention policies. We have configured the shortest available retention period. See Google's Data Retention policies.
  • AdMob data: Managed by Google in accordance with their advertising data policies.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously:

  • All locally stored data remains on the device and is protected by the device's own security mechanisms (screen lock, encryption, etc.).
  • Communication with Firebase Analytics and AdMob uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
  • We do not operate any server infrastructure that stores user data.
  • The App does not require user authentication, login, or account creation.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR Compliance)

This App is specifically designed for children and we treat all users as children for privacy purposes:

  • No personal information is collected from children beyond the anonymous analytics data described above.
  • No behavioral advertising is served. All ads are non-personalized and age-appropriate.
  • No social features, chat, or user-generated content sharing are included in the App.
  • No links to external websites or apps are accessible to children without clear notice.
  • We do not require parental consent because we do not collect personal information from children as defined under COPPA.
  • If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, we will take immediate steps to delete such information.

Parental Rights

Parents and legal guardians have the right to:

  • Review any information collected from their child (we do not store personal data, so there is nothing to review on our servers).
  • Request deletion of any data related to their child.
  • Refuse further collection of their child's data.
  • Contact us with any questions or concerns about their child's privacy.

The App does not request access to:

  • Camera or microphone
  • Contacts or phone
  • Location services
  • Storage or files (beyond its own app-specific database)
  • Calendar or SMS
  • Bluetooth or NFC

8. International Data Transfers

Anonymous analytics data collected by Firebase Analytics and ad-serving data processed by Google AdMob may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States. Google complies with applicable data transfer mechanisms under GDPR. For details, see Google's data transfer policies.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request information about data collected about you or your child.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of data associated with your use of the App.

Since we do not collect personal data on our servers, most of these rights are automatically satisfied. For local data, you can manage or delete hero profiles directly within the App, or clear app data / uninstall the App.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by:

  • Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
